A romantic summer novella, the second inThe Star and Sixpence series.

My review:

Summer at the Star & Sixpence is the second novella in the Star and Sixpence series by Holly Hepburn. These books are eBook only but I am very lucky to have a signed paperback copy from Holly which I got given at the Spring Blogger Event in March.

My last blog post was for the first in the series – Snowdrops at the Star and Sixpence – and in between these two books there is a short story called Valentine’s Day at the Star and Sixpence (I didn’t blog that one as it’s only 37 pages).

The story picks up 4months after Valentine’s day, in June, as the sisters are frantically renovating the upstairs rooms of the pub for an upcoming wedding. Nessie and Owen’s budding relationship has ground to a halt and Sam is very loved up with the very sexy Joss.

The story takes some twists and turns and the “will they, won’t they” with Nessie and Owen cranks up 100%! This book also reveals Sam’s secret! ooooh!

The book is full of laughs and some really vivid descriptions – I could feel the warmth of the sun, smell the grass and hear the cricket match in my head. The description of the bridal suite is stunning – I want to stay there! And the wedding itself is  thing of beauty.

I won’t say anymore as I don’t want to spoil it for you but all I will say is HURRY UP with the next one – I want to know what happens next!! Oh, and the ending made me a little teary!

A fantastic quick read. I really love this series of books.
